So, it appears that I am still on my quest for a deodorant that suits my natural scent and works through the day. As I wrote in my review on the Lush Aromaco and Coconut deodorant, I felt the Coconut wasn't quite right for me, that it matched my natural scent too closely and therefore didn't really deodorize. I think that I still stand by that. (Who knows if that will be a permanent stance though. The body is weird.)

So of course you all know the story: Girl meets boy....errr...I mean lip balm. Girl pays a lot of money for lip balm because it's all natural and makes lofty promises. Boy...I MEAN LIP BALM does something stupid and breaks girl's heart/lips/wallet. I think this analogy totally went off the rails, and I've been watching too many early Sandra Bullock romantic comedies. Yeah, While You Were Sleeping has permeated my brain.

Does anyone besides me have a problem with finding a deodorant that works consistently, all the time? My body seems to have this weird quick that after a period of time the antiperspirant/deodorant I wear on a daily basis, no matter what brand or how strong, eventually stops working. I don't know if it gets used to the chemicals in the formula or if my body chemistry periodically changes, but every brand I've ever used has eventually failed me.

Over the course of my teens years and adulthood, I have tried literally every store brand, a few health food store brands, and even the roll-on formula by Shaklee. Actually, the Shaklee formula was the best one, working for a full two years before going down in a cloud of sweat.

You ever have those products that you put down for months or even a year at a time and then when you get some again and you use it and think “Oh my god, why the hell haven’t I been keeping up with this all along?!? This is great!” Probably not, because it doesn’t make a damn bit of sense. But I do, and one of the products that I’ll inadvertently abandon and then come back to is Lush’s Mask of Magnaminty face mask.

I’ve used this mask on freshly washed skin and over 24 hours since I last washed my face. I’ve used it in summer and winter, and everything in between. I get the same results every time and this is one of the few skin care products I can say that about given the way season changes affect my skin.

Back in August in advance of a camping trip with my family I bought two solid shampoo bars from Lush. The first one was the Godiva solid shampoo bar, which I’ve already reviewed. The second was the Jumping Juniper bar which I’m using currently.

I’m only about halfway through it. So we’re looking at going on six months now that I’ve been using solid shampoos exclusively and I’m still not all the way through the second one. At the very least these things have serious staying power.

Are there any natural ingredients enthusiasts out there in Hot Ink land today? Because I've got a bone to pick with you. Aren't natural ingredients supposed to NOT irritate my skin? Sometimes I Wonder How I Keep From Going Under: Jungle Solid Conditioner

In the course of my mission to find a conditioner that leaves my hair light enough that it doesn’t stick to my scalp and require extra showering but moisturized enough that I don’t look like I spend my free time rubbing my head with balloons, I’ve gone through several brands. Mostly drug store brands, because I’m cheap. Given my luck with other products from Lush, though, I decided to give their Jungle Solid Conditioner a try.

I wanted to like this product. I like a lot of the stuff from Lush and the fact that it’s all environmentally friendly and hand made gives me a nice fuzzy feeling about my bath products that I don’t generally get when I buy products from Dove or Herbal Essences. Also, it was solid! How convenient is that for traveling and if you happen to have a gentleman friend whose shower you have to use maybe sometimes? Way easier to carry back and forth than a bunch of giant bottles.
