My Face is a Drama Queen: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

Napoleanita

Have I talked about my sensitive skin enough? I don't think I have. LET'S TALK ABOUT IT SOME MORE. Because I have found the solution. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.

Basically, my skin is a whiny baby even in the summer. This lotion calms it down and keeps it happy without making me feel like I'm wearing some sort of wetness mask. It never causes breakouts and it doesn't smell like anything at all. I would slather my entire body in it, except that it's definitely on the pricey side. Luckily, you can usually find a substantial sample bottle in Sephora, which lasts me about two to three months of liberal application.

Simply Terrible: Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub

Napoleanita

I've been looking for a face scrub since I got rid of my apricot scrub and I stumbled across the entire Simple line on sale. For five bucks, I took a chance on Simple Smoothing Facial Scrub.

I've made a huge mistake. Not only does it smell like melted plastic ass, the scrubby bit are huge and pointy, which is the opposite of what I was expecting. Plus, did I mention that it smells? Because ohmygawd it smells so bad. Luckily, the smell dissipates immediately, but I had to hold my breath the entire time I was rubbing it on my face to keep from gagging.

Napoleanita's Wish List: Practical Gifts For the Practical Woman

Napoleanita

I like to think of myself as a practical person. Sure, I love shiny things as much as the next person, but when it really comes down to it, I want something I can use. I'm one of those strange women who would be perfectly happy getting a vacuum for her birthday. Provided it was a Dyson.

If it Ain't Broke...Clinique Superbalanced Powder Makeup

Napoleanita

In my most recent gift with purchase from Clinique, I got a 3.5 g sample of their Superbalanced Powder Makeup, which is actually pretty sizable at just slightly smaller than the palm of my hand. I realize that isn't saying much as I have freakishly tiny hands...but I digress. It also comes with this itty bitty brush that you're supposed to somehow not lose in the depths of your makeup bag.

Another thing you will immediately notice is the white disk with little holes in it. Here is the revolutionary new "no waster grinder" that is supposed to set this powder apart. You turn the white disk and the little holes shave the block of mineral powder underneath so you end up with fresh loose powder in the top section. You then dip the tiny brush in and slap the makeup on your face. There are lines on the outer rim of the turny part so you know when to stop turning it.

Smooth Moves

Author: Napoleanita

On a recent trip to Trader Joe's, I was wandering around just taking in the pleasure of being in a Trader Joe's again after living without one for years, when I spied Trader Joe's Honey Mango Moisturizing Shave Cream on the shelf.

I have distressingly dry skin that I'm constantly trying to find ways to moisturize. This is complicated by the fact that my skin is also ridiculously sensitive and will regularly up and decide that it's going to start having a reaction to a product that I've been using just fine for months. Most recently it was shaving cream, even though I was using the special cream for sensitive skin. The shave cream has vitamin E and aloe, both of which have treated my skin well before, and it was definitely a good price at a little over five dollars for an eight ounce tube.
