Made From Earth Vitamin C: Nothing Compares to You

Metric Jenn

Note: This product was provided to me by the company for a review; had I not liked the product there would not have been a review posted.

Well, it seems that I've now become a hippie, overtaking Tamatha and Dixie as the Earth Mother of this small piece of internet heaven. I'm not usually particular about things I throw on my body, meaning that I don't feel the need to make sure that everything is green and organic and whatnot. My face has taken a beating from chemical crap, and I still look alright (I *think*!), so when I was presented with the opportunity to try something new, I thought "Why not? I've suffered through leprosy with Aveeno, this can't possibly be as bad!"

The Baby Bear Porridge of Lotions: Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Lotion

Dixie

Once upon a time there was a little lady in Florida who was searching for a lotion to keep her skin soft in the winter. So, she went on a quest to the hippie food store and to Target (naturally) to find her one true moisturizer.

This one was too greasy. That one was too light. T'other one didn't last through the day. But the Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Lotion that smells of frankincense and myrrh? Why, that one was just right! This is the story of a product that dry-skinned ladies and gentlemen everywhere will rejoice to find at their local stores.

Rusty's Sample Roulette: Bliss Triple Oxygen + C Energizing Cream

Rusty

I order from Sephora kind of a lot. Because of this I have a giant box of samples just hanging out, waiting to be used. This… is… SAMPLE ROULETTE. Due to the brief nature of the use, I will assign ratings as 0 (stay away) 4 (I liked it, but didn’t love it) or 8 (love it and will probably be dropping my own money on it in short order). Enjoy!

There are some complaints that cosmetic products claim to fix that I’ve never really understood. On that list is the concept of “dull skin.” Skin, as a texture, is matte and I know that shiny skin is not good either. But as far as I’ve been able to tell with my own face, my skin is the color that my skin is unless some other medical condition is making it change, in which case I address the medical condition rather than the skin issue. I mention this because I tried Bliss Triple Oxygen + C Energizing Cream which boasts about how well it brightens dull skin.

Rusty's Sample Roulette: Fresh Soy Face Cream

Enjoy!

One of the first things that hit me when I first tried Fresh Soy Face Cream was the smell. Most facial moisturizers or other skin care products tend to have slight floral scents or no scent at all. Fresh Soy Face Cream smelled like… grass. Not like lawn grass but that same kind of greenish, earthy scent of broken stalks or ripped leaves. It’s not unpleasant, just extremely unexpected and something that I’ve noticed every time I’ve used it.

Rusty's Sample Roulette: Billy Jealousy Combination Code Facial Moisturizer

Rusty

I order from Sephora kind of a lot. Because of this I have a giant box of samples just hanging out, waiting to be used. This… is… SAMPLE ROULETTE. When I received Billy Jealousy’s Combination Code facial moisturizer as a sample, I suspected it was not along the lines of my usual samples because of the small stylized dragon on the packet next to the name. “That’s strange” I thought to myself, but opened it anyway with no further investigation.

FA-BOOO!: First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream

Rusty

I have devoted enough words to my problems with dry skin that I’m betting you don’t really feel like hearing anymore about it. So we’re all aware that I have picky skin that’s prone to dryness, yes? Yes. Because there are times in my life when I like less rather than more, I’ve been trying to find a moisturizer that’s gentle enough to use on my face but nourishing enough to work on my dry hands in the winter. Miraculously, I think I’ve got it.

Natural Glow? Fo' Sho'

Author: Park
I have skin that could be generously described as “pasty”. Perhaps less generously as as white as the ghost of a fish’s belly (I’m pale y’all). I also live in Canada which means that at least half of the year my skin sees less light then a Paris Hilton single (ba-da-bum). Therefore, I like to occasionally trick the world into thinking that I have a healthy glow.

To torture a metaphor: if I were Batman, Jergen’s Natural Glow would be my grappling hook. Simple, elegant, always gets the job done. Jergen’s leaves my skin silky smooth and with a healthy glow. And unlike some other products on the market will not turn me a Courtney Stodden-orange. Did I just mention Batman and Courtney Stodden in the same paragraph? Why yes, yes I did.
