Pro-Curl Tweezerman Eye Lash Curler: Serious Business

Metric Jenn

It was a warm summer day back in the year 2000 when I was over at an old friend's apartment, just drinking the last bit of instant coffee and lounging about. We were bored...the kind of bored that only broke university students can be. No money for anything, not even enough to go out to the cheap movie theatres. We didn't even have enough money to put gas in the car. Basically, we were beyond white trash poor. Even the tv was disconnected. This obviously leads to desperation: we decided to get drunk on the last bit of boxed wine and the shitty Coors Lite beers (left over from the asshole that brought them to the last party) and do each other's makeup.

The result of that night still resounds in my life today.

Rimmel London ScandalEyes Mascara: Monocles Popping Everywhere!

Pinky McLadybits

I just can't help myself. I have to try different mascaras. Sure, Rimmel London Sexy Curves Mascara was nearly perfect. I still need to keep trying other mascaras to find the perfect one! Of course, how will I know that it is the perfect one until after using all of the other mascaras...

I digress. I decided to stay in the Rimmel London Family and chose ScandalEyes Mascara for my next go-round. The packaging is orange and sparkly, the brush is supposed to be the biggest ever, and it was under $6. SOLD.

Paperself eyelashes have been seen on the runway and in photos for The Hunger Games movie. But how tough are they to actually put on? Rusty shows you!

5 Products That I'm Thankful For Every Day

MelBivDevoe

Thanksgiving tends to be a time for reflecting upon the things we're thankful for having.  This year, I'm thankful for my husband, my family, my friends, and the ladies here at Hot Ink.  I'm also thankful for these five amazing products - I wouldn't want to be without any of them!

Maybe It's NOT Maybelline... Ok, It's Definitely Not Maybelline.

Author: Metric Jenn

As you, dear internet person, have no doubt read every last article I've ever written, I can assume that you have now become familiar with my spending habits and penchant for expensive things. Well, this review is a bit of a departure from that, because I'm in a 'saving money mode' right now. So my hunt for a good mascara has only resulted in the mediocre Dior Iconic, which I gave a measly 4/8 tentacles.  After testing what the cheaper brand Maybelline had to offer with the Falsies Volume Express, I can honestly say that I think I should go back and give the Dior mascara a MUCH higher rating and that I should always trust my instinct to SPEND MOAR. Because *this* Maybelline mascara? Is total and complete crap.

Cover Girl Lash Blast Length Mascara

Author: Nora

During the week, I like to keep my makeup routine fairly simple, which is why Cover Girl Lash Blast Length is essential to my makeup bag Monday through Friday. I work in a pretty casual place where the dress code is less than informal (ie, scrubs), so there is zero need for dramatic makeup. Still, I feel zombie-esque if I get less than nine hours of sleep at night, so I like keeping my peepers looking naturally peppy with the help of my favorite drugstore mascara.

My, what big eyes you have! - E.L.F. Essentials Mechanical Eyelash Curler

Author: Vee

Who has time to curl their eyelashes? You do, if you want gorgeous lashes that frame your eyes and make them pop.

For years I avoided eyelash curlers because they looked like medieval torture devices that not only threatened to pull out my lashes, but worst of all just weren't that effective. All that changed the day I met the E.L.F. Essentials Mechanical Eyelash Curler.

ULTA Lash Icon: You Keep Using That Word!

Author: Pinky McLadybits

I left the house today. I shouldn't have done it, because I went to ALL of the stores and bought MOST of the things. To be fair, I was looking for an item more elusive than a unicorn: a pair of gold, opera-length gloves. Needless to say, I did not find them. But I found lots of other stuff!

My first stop was ULTA, but that was because I had a $5 off coupon AND I needed mascara and nail polish topcoat. I left with a polish basecoat, polish topcoat, some baked eyeshadow, and ULTA Lash Icon Volume Mascara in Soft Black.

Iconic or Demonic? Dior Iconic Mascara

Author: Metric Jenn

Iconic. That’s a pretty lofty name for mascara. For something to be iconic, it must stick in the minds of generations as something to be admired and emulated. Dior has a history of classic looks that are associated with old Hollywood glamour.

I am very much a fan of Dior. I have a lot of their products. Most of the time I find them to be high quality products worth the exorbitant price. I’ve been searching for a good mascara for years now, from cheap Wal-Mart brands, to Benefit to Dior. NONE have stood up to my standards. I guess by now you can tell how well Dior Iconic fares in my estimation.

You Know What They Say About Long Lashes? *Wink*

Author: Pinky McLadybits

"Look! Another e.l.f. product! What's that? You bought it at Target? NO WAY." Is that what you're saying right now? Well, Halloween is coming up and the stores are filled with fake lashes to accent all of the sexy Scrabble costumes and sexy Ninja Turtle costumes. And they cost upwards of $5 from what I've seen. Sure, some of them have sparkles or weird feathery things on them, but $5? My husband's not made of money! (He's made of Doritos and sexy)

I decided that e.l.f.'s $1 Dramatic Lash Kit was a good way to figure out whether I could even apply fake lashes and whether they would be a welcome addition to my proposed Halloween costume. Which is definitely not sexy Freddy Krueger or sexy Cop. Nope. Anyway, if these work out then maybe I'll get myself some fancy $5 fake lashes with fake fire or something among the fringe.
