Saints Preserve Us, Wherever We May Fall

MelBivDevoe

Artist Jska Priebe has turned some of the most beloved female sci-fi characters into saints, like Leeloo over there.  I wonder, what would she be the saint of?  Travelers?  (The Mary Sue)

Saturday Night Live is now actively seeking suggestions for their musical acts from the internet.  There's no way this could possibly backfire.  (AV Club)

Boy, Fox News needs to vet their guests a little better, if this young comedian can get through and troll their hosts live on the air.  (Superficial)

If you've not yet heard the leaked video in which Mitt Romney reveals his true feelings about voters who back Obama, then you need to do so now.  In a surprising move, Romney held a press conference to confirm that yes, those are his beliefs.  My takeaway?  If you make less than $200,000, his insane idea of "middle class," then you mean nothing to Romney.  (Gawker)

Too Sleepy To Think of a Clever Title

MelBivDevoe

I think the cute little guy over there has the right idea.  Tuesday afternoons are just perfect for napping... if only one had the time!

You know what'd be amazing?  If my home had a secret door in it, like these homes do.  Check out #12 - it leads to a secret theater!  (The Chive)

Homemade Nutella recipe.  'Nuff said.  (David Lebovitz)

Robocop's Got Dancin' Feet!

MelBivDevoe

Happy Friday, y'all!  Big plans for the weekend?  Maybe thinking about shakin' your groove thang like Robocop over there?  That lovely attitude en pointe pose (total guess there, never took ballet) was drawn by super talented artist Jesse Lonergan on his "Dancer a Day" blog.  I highly recommend taking the time to scroll through his tumblr.  (Dancer a Day h/t Pleated Jeans)

According to a recent poll, 78% of viewers are enjoying Ryan Seacrest's coverage of the Olympics.  Apparently, they're also fans of Bob Costas, too.  Two things: one, where do they find the people who take these polls, and two, don't encourage NBC, for goodness sake, or it'll be all Seacrest, all the time!  (Washington Post)

I think my next pet shall be a hedgehog.  We can even drink Lactaid together!  (Colossal)

Wendy's in Japan has started selling lobster and caviar sandwiches for $16 a pop.  Interesting, but I think I'll just stick with the Baconator.  (laist)

Bill Murray is My Spirit Guide

MelBivDevoe

Good morning!  Some days, you wake up and think, eh, I'm just not feeling it today.  That's me today.  So, let's ease into things, shall we?

How about the most adorable photo of a baby gorilla ever to get us started?  Man, that stethoscope must've been cold, look at that expression!  I just want to smush his widdle face!  (Buzzfeed)

Here's a gallery of the stars who have stopped by Sesame Street over the years.  Man, I loved Lily Tomlin's Edith Ann when I was little! (EW)

Josh Hutcherson, best known as Peeta from "The Hunger Games," is auctioning off the chance for five lucky winners to have dinner with him.  Proceeds from the auction will benefit a paralyzed young woman who attended his alma mater.  Forget the gorilla, I want to smush Josh's cute widdle face!  I would totally enter that contest myself, but it might be weird if a 29 year old woman showed up to dinner and just gawked at him all night.  (Crushable)

My Heart's Aflame, I'll Love You 'Til Tuesday

MelBivDevoe

That graph is true.  The endless bounty of the internet has taught me much.  Just today, I learned how to turn an Android phone into a wifi hotspot.  Which would be super helpful if I had an Android, but perhaps it will be of help to some of y'all instead!  (Lifehacker)

These gorgeous watercolor illustrations from molecular biologist David Goodsell will have you looking at cells in a whole new way.  I've never thought of Hepatitis B as beautiful before.  (i09)

Hot men holding babies is surprisingly adorable.  And with bonus baby lamb just in case you hadn't already died from the cuteness!  (Pajiba)

Oh Monday, Monday, So Good to Me

MelBivDevoe

Ugh, Monday.  Have you recovered from your weekend?  Or did you take the day off to recuperate?  If you're playing hooky today, I hope you didn't use any of these excuses.  #1 is impressively stupid.  (Grindstone)

Toe-slimming surgery is the latest in a long line of unnecessary medical procedures.  Ladies, your toes are fine.  Don't let some slimy doctor convince you to waste your money and butcher your body!  (Blisstree)

If you missed all the fun at Comic Con this week, fear not, here's a roundup of what went down.  (The Mary Sue)

The one panel I wish I had experienced?  The 10 year anniversary reunion of the cast and crew of "Firefly."  Thankfully, you can watch that panel in its entirety here.  Shiny!  (Oh My Geek!)

I Was Angry When I Wrote This, Excuse Me If I Curse Too Much

Do not read this link if you are eating lunch, want to eat lunch, are thinking about eating lunch. I AM SO SERIOUS, Y'ALL! It's the shitty jobs of the animal kingdom. (ABCs Of Animal World)

Keeping on the bug/animal theme, you'll never believe that this caterpillar is real and not some fancy paperweight you can buy for your Mom from Things Remembered. (Gizmodo)

We move now to the majestic octopus, tentacled deity of Pajiba and holder of clues to our planet's history. (Treehugger)

Ah, movie theaters. If you would just guarantee me that the old bitch in front of me won't loudly talk through the flick or that the asshole teenagers won't text or talk through the feature, I would give you my business. So now you have to make your employees work midnight showings for any movie that you think might just sell. This is why I just hit up the drive-in, bitches. (PSFK)
