Come Down and Waste Away With Me

MelBivDevoe

Good morning!  Feeling a little like you're wasting you life away?  Time for a reinvention!  Just follow the lead of these celebrities who revamped their lives using social media.  Oh, Takei, you are a national treasure.  (Mashable)

It's really wonderful to see the hip-hop community embracing the gay community.  First, Frank Ocean came out and was met with love and support.  Now, in his latest video, rapper Murs fights homophobia with a same-sex kiss.  (Gawker)

Also wonderful: this slideshow of Olympic athletes and their pets.  It's almost too much cuteness for one link!  (People)

"How I Met Your Mother" might be renewed for a ninth season.  Ugh.  Look, it's a great show, but it's time to wrap things up.  I think they've dragged out the central mystery long enough now!  (Uproxx)

Sometimes a movie has one shining piece of brilliance that makes you question whether the rest of the film really sucked or if you missed something. Apparently, some of the movies really do just suck. (The Awl)

Speaking of suck, I tried to watch Mad Men. I really did. But partway through the first episode and seeing all of the sexism was enough to turn me off. I get enough woman-bashing when I read comments from Republican candidates. I don't need it in my entertainment. So I understand why Lindsay Cross doesn't watch it either. (The Gloss)

This Wednesday Needs More Cowbell. Possibly Some Nudity Too.

If you need a(nother) reason to get boozy on St. Patrick's Day, here's how to concoct a Shamrock Shake Shot.  Oh yes.  (Glitter, Glue and Gluttony)

And in case you needed a reason to get boozy today, this collection of every single one of Bart Simpson's chalkboard quotes is sure to drive you to drink long before you reach the end.  (The Social Feed)

As someone who spent a few years working in government, I can tell you that this infographic on how lobbying works is, sadly, so very true.  (visual.ly)

Okay, so John Carter (of Mars, dammit) doesn't suck?  I should see it?  In an actual theater?  Huh.  Well.  Okay.  (Wired)
