Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen: Don't Get it in Your Eyes

                                                        Metric Jenn

Ok, my peeps. Metric Jenn here to tell you about how protecting your skin from the ravages of the sun's rays is a good thing. And it is. That's why I'm all about purchasing good suntan lotions, sprays, and the like. So as I was prepping for yet another beach-day, and as I was grabbing snacks (cherry twizzlers are the bomb, yo!), I recalled that I was out of sun tan lotion specifically for my face. Yes, specifically for my face - I've got finicky skin (as I may have mentioned before). So I grabbed some Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen SPF 45.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen SPF30: You Did The Best You Could

Pinky McLadybits

Full disclosure: I was selected by Influenster to receive a Summer Voxbox filled with products to review. I will be reviewing them whether I find them awesome or terrible.

Summertime. I thought perhaps we could remain in that little bubble of sunshine without humidity we had been enjoying. Alas, it was not meant to be and the heat was in full force on July Fourth this year. So much so that I was forced to wear my bathing suit and lounge in a small pool to stay cool. Since I usually stay in the shade, this meant I needed some sunscreen.

Obviously, I chose the wrong SPF level with Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen SPF30. I am fair-skinned and the sun is hot and full of burning. That's not the sunscreen's fault, though. It is fully my fault.

Sample Roulette: Murad Oil-Free Sunscreen

Rusty

I order from Sephora kind of a lot. Because of this I have a giant box of samples just hanging out, waiting to be used. This… is… SAMPLE ROULETTE. Due to the brief nature of the use, I will assign ratings as 0 (stay away) 4 (I liked it, but didn’t love it) or 8 (love it and will probably be dropping my own money on it in short order). Enjoy!

Falling somewhere between “printer paper” and “Casper the Friendly Ghost” on the skin tone scale, sunblock should be my best friend. But it isn’t, because I have a weird thing about textures and a lot of sunblock seems to feel oily, or gritty, or otherwise unpleasant. I still wear it, because it’s less unpleasant than a sunburn. When I got the sample of Murad Oil-Free Sunscreen I threw it in my purse just in case I found myself outside unexpectedly on a sunny day.

Staying a Whiter Shade of Pale: Clinique Sun SPF 30 Face Cream

Author: Rusty

Of all the areas of my life in which I must battle my own nature in order to maintain the illusion that I’m a well functioning and responsible individual, the one which has the most potential for long term damage is the fact that I hate sunblock. I hate the way it feels, even those ‘dry’ sunblocks that people recommend to me because they’re TOO dry and still don’t feel any better on my skin or hands than the regular kind. Some sunblocks even give me strange reactions that seem to cause me to burn WORSE so I also have to be super picky when it comes to sunblock brands. I’d rather just not wear the stuff, but since my dominant genes seem to come from the side of the family that is Irish and descended from Vikings, my skin is basically see through and burns if I stand too close to a light bulb. Going without sun protection in the summer months is not an option.
