Take Charge (Of Your Hair!): John Frieda Frizz-Ease

MelBivDevoe

When it comes to hair styling, I'm a complete novice.  My mother has always had a short, no-nonsense haircut, and I don't have any sisters, so I didn't grow up watching anyone work on their hair.  My friends in high school weren't into trading makeup and hair tips - we would rather go play tennis or watch movies.  I've been straightening my wavy hair since high school, not so much because I preferred the look but more to get it under control.  So, when I was in college, and a friend asked me why I never put any product into my hair to turn the waves into curls, my first reaction was, "I can do that?"  (Ah, to be young and naive again.)

Lucky for me, my friend knew exactly what I needed.  She introduced me to John Frieda's  Frizz Ease Take Charge Curl-Boosting Mousse, and I've been using it ever since.

John Frieda Root Awakening for Dry Hair

Park

I’m going to start this review with a story. Its the story of my Grandma Rodgers, who was a pretty amazing person. Unfortunately, she made the mistake a lot of folks do and married a guy who was kind of a jerk and who skipped out on her. This meant that she was left as a single Mom at a time when that was barely acceptable when your husband died (my other Grandmother, whose husband did pass away, was regularly pressured to get remarried).

So my very devout Catholic Grandmother mostly kept quiet about what had happened and she scrimped and saved money and did what she could to take care of her three kids. She didn’t allow herself much in the way of luxury. There were some small vacations later on, which my Grandfather angrily accused her of funding using the tiny, infrequent amounts of money he sent home (like I said, he was a real class act).

Precisely the Color I Was Looking For

Author: MelBivDevoe

I will freely admit that I have total hair color envy. I have always wanted gloriously shiny, deep red hued hair - cherry or burgundy, it doesn't matter. Unfortunately, I'm as brown as brunette gets, so I rely on hair dye to achieve the look I want.

Another thing I will admit? I'm a bit of a spaz when it comes to dyeing my hair. I've been dyeing it since high school, and my poor mother could tell you horror stories about my experiences - the towels I've ruined, the countless smears of dye on the tub and/or sink, the clothing I've accidentally colored along with my hair. So when I heard about the latest trend in hair coloring, the foaming dye, and its no-drip promises, well, I knew I had to try it.
