No matter who you voted for, I respect and admire that you voted at all. Respect is largely what we are missing as a country, as clearly reflected in the horribly racist, ignorant, and hateful things I have seen after President Barack Obama was elected to his second term. It's shameful, it's ignorant, and it only keeps us from being able to move forward as a country and better ourselves.
We need to look out for ourselves, yes. But looking out for ourselves also means looking out for each other. Passing school levies to ensure the kids in the neighborhood grow into thoughtful, well-rounded, and intelligent adults. Acknowledging that maybe you didn't vote for this person or that person, but perhaps their being in office helped one of your neighbors or family members. Being graceful about defeat and figuring out how to find the silver lining. That's all I have to say about that.
My darling pal Innernet Magpie was asking the other day about the methods people use to track their successes at work. I told her I kept important rewards and reviews carved into the skin of my enemies (and then use their blood on my face for clear skin). Guess what? There is a better way! (Lifehacker)
I got married in Las Vegas at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel. They are awesome there and take care of all of the details. I'm still sad that they didn't have a Batman wedding package. Anyway, lots of brides and grooms are making their weddings as special as their love. SNITCH CAKE! (Offbeat Bride)
Did you know that you can, in limited areas, stay in green hotel rooms? Soy fill in cushions and a natural salt water pool are just a couple of the amenities. (The Daily Green)
In other news, the people affected by Whoreicane Sandy are still struggling for many things. Underwear for adults and children are one of those things. (Mother Nature Network)
Interested in what the city plans are for sustainability in NY? (Environmental Leader)
Dear Christmas, WAIT YOUR TURN. Sincerely, Turkey. (The Consumerist)
Yes, Halloween is over. But Jenna Marbles is awesome and her past Britney costumes are AMAHZING.
