The Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream SPF 15 has consistently won the Allure Best of Beauty Award so many times that it is now in the Best of Beauty Hall of Fame. Since I will try anything on that list at least once, I picked up a tube at the store when I was in need of face cream with SPF. I've been in search of a great day lotion for years now. I use to love Olay Complete All Day Moisture, but now that I'm about to hit the big 3-0, I'm looking for something to ward off wrinkles.

What distinguishes this face cream from others is the fact that it contains both Retinol and SPF, making it a great day cream. For those of you new to Retinol, here is a great article on what it does for your skin.

Essentially, Retin A was historically used for acne, and is much stronger and can be very irritating if not used properly. Retinol is a derivative that is less potent but milder to the skin and is often found in over the counter products. Both are derivatives of Vitamin A that when used topically, increase cell turnover and exfoliation, as well as promoting collagen production. This results in smoother, plumper skin, with less clogged pores and a reduction in fine lines. Both will make your skin more sensitive the the sun, so wearing SPF is critical.

Enough with the science lesson, how did Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream SPF 15 work? Like a charm, baby. The cream left my skin feeling immediately smoother. Since using it for a few weeks, I have had practically no breakouts, and I haven't had any flaky winter skin.

I can't speak to the wrinkle removing aspect because I don't have many wrinkles to speak of due to my naturally oily skin, good genes from my mom, and a love of chemical skin peels. I do however believe that this cream helps me keep my skin wrinkle-free.

Some users will sensitive skin may experience mild tingling. That's normal. If you get redness, you may want to ease your way into using Retinol by applying once every other day until your skin adjusts. If you are seeing irritation, make sure that you aren't already using multiple other products with acids (Glycolic, Alpha-Hydroxy, Lactic, Salicylic are just a couple) because that can be overload.

I loved this cream so much that I bought another box of it when it was on sale, even though I hadn't finished the first one. The 1.4 ounce tube is metal, which keeps the product from losing potency. You only need a marble-size amount, so it lasts a good while. Best of all, you can find this anywhere for under $15.
