It's About To Get Mad Men Up In Here: Drinks For New Year's Eve

The Ladies of Hot Ink

New Year's Eve is coming and you know what that means: DRINKING! WOOOOOO! We here at Hot Ink like drinking. Wine, beer, liquor, all of the alcoholic things. So we feel like we know good beverages when we see them. Lovely awesome that we are, we've decided to share some of our favorites with you. Aw. Enjoy!

Pinapple Upside Down Martini

  • 1 3/4 oz premium vodka
  • 3 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp grenadine

Pour vodka and pineapple juice into a shaker filled with ice. Shake and pour into chilled martini glass. Pour grenadine into drink, it will keep to the bottom of the glass and give the cocktail a festive appearance.

Snow Bunny (Kolby's own recipe!)

  • 1 3/4 oz premium vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 oz light Cream de Cacao
  • splash Frangelico liquer
  • 2-3 oz cream
Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into chilled martini glass.

Kir Royale - great for New Year's Eve

  • Champagne or sparkling wine
  • creme de cassis (Chambord)
Pour creme de cassis and champagne into champagne flute - 1 part creme de cassis followed by 5 parts champagne or sparkling wine.

Layered Candy Cane Shot

  • 1/2 oz. peppermint schnapps
  • 1/2 oz. green creme de minthe
  • 1/2 oz. grenadine

This shot is all about looks - you want to pour it in this exact order to achieve a layered shot. First, pour the grenadine into the shot glass. Next, add the creme de minthe slowly - it may help to float it over the back of a spoon. Then, add the peppermint schnapps last.

Seething Jealousy

  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce Scotch
  • 1/2 ounce cherry brandy
  • 1/2 ounce fresh orange juice

Shake all ingredients with ice; then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Cherry Squirt (Pinky LOVES This One)

  • 2 ounces Three Olives Cherry Vodka
  • 2 ounces Lemonade
  • 1/2 ounce Triple Sec

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.

Aviation (one of Vee's Favorites!)

  • 3 oz gin
  • 1 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 oz creme de violette
  • Splash (1/8 oz) maraschino liqueur, preferably Luxardo (Note, this is not the juice from the red cherry jar)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake until chilled. Serve in a martini glass.
