I've stated before my distaste for using regular hair dye (as opposed to hair color mousse). A large part of that is due to my own clumsiness - a tendency to drip or smear the dye on my clothes... or the furniture... or the walls/floors/etc. And yet, I continue to use dye, because it's cheaper and I am nothing if not a tightwad.
So thank goodness that Roux Clean Touch Haircolor Stain Remover exists, because it allows a spaz like myself to continue dyeing my hair at home without also dyeing everything else in sight.
I dyed my hair a deep black today, just for the hell of it. And I managed not to drip any dye onto my clothing or the sink. But, without thinking, I hit the light switch while still wearing the gloves, and left a lovely dark-blue smear of color that streaked from the switch down across the wall to the doorframe. *facepalm* But I did not panic! Instead, I reached for my bottle of Clean Touch and dabbed a little onto a cotton ball. Within a few seconds of scrubbing, the color came off of the light switch and the wall!
I've been using Clean Touch for years, ever since I stumbled across a bottle at my local Sally Beauty store. I wouldn't dye my hair without it! It also works on clothing and is gentle enough to remove stains from your skin as well. According to the bottle, you can also use Clean Touch to remove "excess color from hair ends" - so if your hair comes out a little darker than expected, you can fix that with a little dab.
The bottle doesn't say anything about using it on fixtures or walls, though - I've been lucky that it's worked for me, but I suppose there is a risk that the ingredients could react badly with paint or the like. Even so, I swear by this stuff. And because I only need a little at a time, each bottle I've had has lasted me a long time.
Roux Clean Touch is available from beauty stores like Sally Beauty as well as online from stores like Amazon. It retails for around $5 to $7 for an 11.8 ounce bottle. I give Clean Touch an 8 out of 8 tentacles - it's yet to let me down.
