Candy Corn Oreos: Halloween Trick? Or Treat?

MelBivDevoe

It's a bit of an understatement to say that I have a sweet tooth.  I love sugar.  In any form.  Baked goods?  I eat them all.  Candy?  Yes, please!  I once bought several tubes of colored frosting... not to paint a cake, but to consume straight from the tube.  Yes.  I am that woman.

When I heard last week that Nabisco was releasing Candy Corn Oreos, I was intrigued.  I love Oreos, even the golden ones.  And I love candy corn, that delicious orange, white, and yellow confection that is generally only available in the fall.  I know some people can't stand the stuff, but it's basically just sugar in chewy corn shape, so of course I dig it.

But the thought of smooshing the two together didn't exactly sound appealing.  Would the creme filling really taste like candy corn?  Would the two together be too much sugar?  Was such a thing even possible?

Ben & Jerry's Frozen Yogurt Half Baked

Pinky McLadybits

Rusty, and several of the other ladies, really enjoy Ben & Jerry's Greek Frozen Yogurt. I thought it was just alright, perhaps something I would eat instead of regular Ben & Jerry's if it was the only thing left in store freezers after the Apocalypse or when I was really hungry. Not great, but not bad. But it wasn't ice cream, my friends. So few things really are.

I was at Target, the Hot Ink Mecca, and I decided I wanted some Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Sure, I'm on a diet. BUT THE WEATHER IS HOTTER THAN SATAN'S BUTTHOLE AFTER HE FINISHES WATCHING MAGIC MIKE WITH HIS BOYFRIEND, SADDAM. Really hot. So I need more than air conditioners and hiding indoors to make me feel refreshed. I need frozen goodness.

Thankfully, along with the regular Ben & Jerry's there was FroYo Half Baked. It boasts chocolate and vanilla frozen yogurt swirls with chunks of brownies and cookie dough. Take that, Satan's Butthole!

up&up Women's Electric Razor: Can Inanimate Objects Burn In Hell?

Pinky McLadybits

I couldn't find a picture of the razor, so I chose the photo at left to represent how well it performed.

GARRRRGGGGHHHH!

Once again, I had not learned my lesson. I balked at the prices of razor refills and thought maybe I would use an electric razor instead. After all, summer is on the way and it would be faster than using a regular razor. If it worked, that is. And it totally doesn't work.

Ask Ink: Face Cleaning For Lazy People!

So what's the thought on makeup wipes in general? I can see how in [some] case[s] they don't cut it. But I use them all the time instead of other cleansers. Should I or no?

Every Girl Crazy 'Bout A Sharp-Dressed Man. Also, Flapjacks.

                                                         Kolby

Yep, that's Ryan Gosling in pancake form.  It's amazing what will appear when you type "Sexy Man Pancakes" into a Google image search.  Ahem, please enjoy your Thursday links, won't you?

I howled from the beginning of this series of Robert Downey Jr. pinups photos to the end.  You will, too.  I just know it.  (Octupus' Garden)

e.l.f. The Beauty Encyclopedia of Smoky Eyes: Buy Me A Drink?

Pinky McLadybits

I think any regular readers that we might have already know that I am woefully untalented when it comes to makeup application. You saw the whore-colored lipstick. Read about my fiasco with Benefit Brow Zings. You discovered that I'm unable to apply Sally Hansen nail strips properly. In short, I'm fancy in the brain.

Lucky for me and those that have to look at me for any period of time, e.l.f. makes Beauty Encyclopedias. I, of course, got this particular Beauty Encyclopedia from Target and I got it on clearance. I'm predictable that way. I chose the Smoky Edition because that is a look I've attempted and never mastered. I hoped that the palette and directions would help me out.

HerbaShine Nourishing Color Creme: I Never Learn, Do I?

MelBivDevoe

After my last post on hair dye, I basically vowed not to use anything but foam hair color in the future.   I figured there was no reason to go back to traditional hair dyes and put myself through all that misery again.

Then I went shopping.  And, lo and behold, my local Target had Garnier Herbashine hair dye on sale for $3 a box.  Rational MelBiv immediately thought of all the things I hated about regular hair dye - the drips, the stains, the horrible smell, and so on.  Then Frugal MelBiv chimed in, "But it's only $3!"  Rational MelBiv countered with, "It's from Garnier.  We haven't had much luck with their products."  But then Frugal MelBiv shouted "$3!!!!" I think you know who won that argument.

We're Baaaaack! You Know You Missed Us

Pinky McLadybits

You may have noticed yesterday that most of the internet was blacked out, including us, to protest SOPA and PIPA. Probably the best blackout page was this one by The Oatmeal. (The Oatmeal)

It seems that yesterday's blackouts either coincided with or caused 18 new senators to oppose SOPA and PIPA. (Business Insider)

I've never had Pinkberry, but I saw that commercial for some credit card that the owners did. Now I'll probably never have Pinkberry, pending the innocence or guilt of charges he beat someone with a tire iron over a tattoo. (Los Angeles Times)

Sweet Lord, the severed head, hands and feet of a possibly Armenian man were found near the Hollywood sign. (The Hollywood Reporter)

up & up Women's Disposable Triple Blade Razors for Sensitive Skin: EVIL.

Pinky McLadybits

Why do razors cost so damn much? Why is it cheaper to buy a whole new razor base than 4 damned razor refills? HAS EVERYONE GONE CRAZY?

I hate buying razors and I put it off until I have no other choice but to bend over and be plugged in the ass for $10 or $20 for a set of 4 or 8 disposable razor blades. It drives me nuts. Half of the time the damned things will inexplicably leave a hair on your leg or underarm that, left to its own devices, will grow to be tall and strong like oak tree.

Rifuckingdiculous is what it is. And that is why I decided to try out these entirely disposable razors by Target's house brand up&up.

Pinky's Gimme List: What To Buy For The Geek Woman In Your Life

Pinky McLadybits

We thought we would put together lists of gifts we would each love to receive for Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Ramadan, or whatever you celebrate. I'm sure you know someone like me, or like Metric Jenn, or Figgy, or Lainey, or any of us. And for that reason, we present our individual gift guides. I hope they help you out during your particular holiday season. HERE WE GO!

You know me. I'm a little cheap (but only because my husband has forced me to be), I love Batman, movies, books, and lots of other things. I love expensive things but I so rarely get them unless they are gifts. As such, I ask for expensive gifts. Mostly of the nerd/geek variety.

Smelling Like A Baby's Butt In A Good Way: Up&Up Milk & Honey Hand Soap

Pinky McLadybits

Hand soap: The most boring soap in the house. Wait, I forgot about dish soap! Hand soap: The second most boring soap in the house. Of course, it is one of the most important soaps in the house, which makes up for the boring part. Mostly.

I had purchased a mango-smelling hand soap from Big Lots, but it didn't work. Seriously, it didn't lather, didn't clean, didn't work. But it did smell like mango. Whoopty-doo. On one of my trips to Target, I set out to replace the mango pseudo-soap. I grabbed Target's store brand up & up in Moisturizing Milk and Honey because of the color of the bottle and soap (neutral!) and the price (less than a dollar!)

Do I Look Like A Hooker Or Just An Idiot: NYC Lipstick in Air Kiss

Author: Pinky McLadybits

I'd been sick all week. I hadn't been to Target in that whole week and I decided I should go. They were probably worried about me and losing profits and such. I'm sure they were all beside themselves, wondering what had become of me!

Or not.

Anyway, I went in with a list of butt wipes (what I call those flushable wet wipes for adults), eyebrow waxing kit, a neutral grey nail polish, some lipstick, and some foundation. I got the lipstick, foundation, and butt wipes.

Wash That Harlot Grease Off Your Face!

Author: Pinky McLadybits

I was in Target. Again. I went in for a birthday gift and I left with some fake eyelashes to play with, some nail top coat, and these face scrubber cloths. Oh, I also left with the birthday gift. There were also many things that I didn't buy. Like that clearance television or those panties or those really cute pajama pants. It's like I was made of stone or something. Yay me!

I had been washing my face with some cucumber face cloths from Big Lots that cost just a dollar. I am super-fancy. I ran out and decided to move on up the store chains and purchase Target's house brand Up & Up Exfoliating Cucumber Cleansing Towelettes (I'm guessing you can only find them in-store).

Here's this week's question:
"I need a new straightener! I hate mine! It doesn't get hot enough and the plates are too wide (thick? big?)! What do you all use or recommend?

Missoni For Target: Becoming a Fashion Victim

Author: Rusty

The Missoni for Target collection has been hyped for about the last month and a half with a television commercial featuring women in head to toe zig zags in an array of aggressive colors. They were fun, kicky, and a bit retro in that late 60s early 70s kind of way and I was curious to see the clothes for myself when the line launched.
