Happy Thursday! HAPPY LINKS ONLY!

Pinky McLadybits

Yesterday I linked to a Starbucks made of old shipping containers. It was pretty sweet. But this? This is even better. I'm making a special trip to Starbucks to show my support of this. (Seattle Times)

Speaking of things and people that rock my face off, here's Dave Grohl making an excellent point. (via Popurls)

Here's some good news: Stricter school lunch guidelines from the USDA. Keep in mind that schools have to offer the fruits and vegetables, but parents have to teach their children to make the right choices. So. It's a start! (CNN)

Guess what? MORE AWESOME. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donated $750 MILLION to help combat AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. (Huffington Post)

We're Baaaaack! You Know You Missed Us

Pinky McLadybits

You may have noticed yesterday that most of the internet was blacked out, including us, to protest SOPA and PIPA. Probably the best blackout page was this one by The Oatmeal. (The Oatmeal)

It seems that yesterday's blackouts either coincided with or caused 18 new senators to oppose SOPA and PIPA. (Business Insider)

I've never had Pinkberry, but I saw that commercial for some credit card that the owners did. Now I'll probably never have Pinkberry, pending the innocence or guilt of charges he beat someone with a tire iron over a tattoo. (Los Angeles Times)

Sweet Lord, the severed head, hands and feet of a possibly Armenian man were found near the Hollywood sign. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Hot Links: "I had high heels in my high chair and I'll have 'em in my wheelchair."

I've always thought that personalized license plates are fairly stupid. Either the plate tells me you're cocky or I can't decipher your intended message. These geeky license plates? Don't really change my mind. But enjoy! (mental floss)

Ten years ago, someone decided that Double Dragon baddie Abobo should have his own adventure game. Ten long years I waited, not even knowing I was waiting. Today is the day. Play Abobo's Big Adventure free online. Fight your way through classic NES games! (Abobo's Big Adventure)

Hot Links: In Home Pot Sales? Yeah, That Sounded Legit.

Pinky and Nora

My bathroom has tile that I hate and when I'm in there I like to stare at it in hatred. Sometimes I see yetis, demons, and Lindsey Lohan in the different shapes. It's good to know that everyone's brain does this. (Wired)

I KNEW IT! (The Onion)

Do you listen to NPR? Perhaps you listen to Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!. Either way, you can take their daily quiz to see how informed you are. (NPR)

I have trouble making new friends with other ladies. I'm self-conscious, afraid of being seen as too gross or something. Luckily for me, INTERNET! Number 5 on this list is my favorite, as some of the friends I talk to the most are new, online pals. (HelloGiggles

Hot Links: Yeah, that's Katherine Heigl. Please Continue Reading Anyway.

Kolby

Katherine Heigl says she's "just that asshole who really wants everyone to like me." I was going to say "no scheisse, sweetheart," but I guess I admire her for owning it? And that's about the kindest thing I can say about La Heigl. (Celebitchy)

Apparently, and I know this is going to come as a shock to you, sitting on your ass can actually make it fatter. Yes, I know. I can't believe it either. (Gawker)

Here are a few tips from the Washington Post to help us slow the effects of aging. Clubbing past the age of 40 and rocking your daughter's jeggings are, amazingly, not on the list. (The Washington Post National)

Scientists have discovered the most Earth-like planet yet. It's a mere 600 light years away, and they're calling it the Christmas Planet. Awwwwwwww. (Mashable)

Hot Links: Real Disney Princesses & Fancy Nail Polish

Pinky McLadybits

Jirka Vinse Jonatan Väätäinen has created realistic versions of Disney Princesses, like Tiana over there, using photo manipulation. Check out his other works on his blog.

Did you love the trailer for The Hunger Games? I cannot wait until March! Almost as good though, China Glaze is releasing Hunger Games-inspired polishes in February! I'll take one of each, please.

Dustin, Head Honcho at Pajiba, is celebrating his birthday today. By declaring it Butthole Day. I love that man.

Want to feel really old? Me neither, but Mental Floss's list of 11 Sounds That Your Kids Have Probably Never Heard made me feel older than John McCain.
