There are few cosmetic mishaps that I despise more than creased eye shadow. When you look in the mirror and see that the eye shadow you carefully applied that morning has migrated entirely into the crease of your lid, it's disheartening. Benefit Instant Brow Pencil: Take A Look At Me Now

Since I was unable to properly use the Benefit Brow Zings, I traded them in for their much simpler Instant Brow Pencil. It was less expensive, too! That's a total score on both counts for me, Cheap Ass McGee!

I don't have to mess with tiny brushes, think too much about whether to use the wax or powder, or confuse myself with which way to put what. I am a bit of an anal-retentive weirdo, so I am annoyed when I can't specifically replicate what I want. This is much less of a problem with the pencil than it was with the Brow Zings. Yay for my simple brain and late start with cosmetics and their application!

Brow Zings would be one of the treasures I left my first Benefit Brow Bar with a few weeks ago. Paige, the Brow Bar Guru, used the zings kit to shape and fill in my sparse brows. I was amazed at how easy she was able to use this small kit to create gorgeous brows where there had only been sparse sadness.

It was like turning a crack den into a school for underprivileged children where they would get to learn and ride on unicorns while earning money to help their families and earning college credit, y'all. IT WAS MAGICAL. Unfortunately, my being able to recreate the fantastic brows with the kit is an entirely different story.

I've been lazy with my eyebrows because my new bangs cover them pretty well. I decided to take charge and get myself to the Benefit Brow Bar at the local mall. I'll tell you more about that later. 

This product was sold to me after the brow session (they are good at the Benefit counter) when I was handed off to one of the makeup girls. Benefit's They're Real Beyond Mascara was the big sell and I was told twice about the amazing brush that applied this game-changing mascara. When the makeup girl grabbed the mascara to demo it, of course they were out of the fancy disposable applicators and she had to use a regular brush.

Eventually, we admit to ourselves that while no one else may notice the flaw or annoyance, it’s not about them. It’s about us, and what we need to feel confident and happy in our appearance.
