Internet Magic! So basically cool cat pics and general weirdness. Now with 100% more Samuel L. Jackson

Park

So it's mid-January and you're sick to death of hearing about the 20 bazillion diets you can go on and it's increasingly difficult to keep up the "go to bed early, eat right and be neater" resolution (just me?).  Well, don't worry, the internet is here with great stuff to distract me, um, I mean you.

First, let's start with a website that may feature the best kitty cartoons ever, and trust me, I’m a connoisseur (Kitties & Bullshit)

Are you as tired as I am about hearing about people's cleanses? And, do some of them seem a little creepy to you too? (io9)

Oscars, Cosplay, Pepsi, and MAGIC!

Kolby and Pinky

Happy Monday, dearies.  I hope you're enjoying your Oscars hangover.  I wonder how many Academy Awards-related links I can jam in today.  Let's see!

To start us off, here's E!'s recap of the night's winners, losers and unexpected moments.  (E! Online)

I'm positively tickled by Eric Wilson's cranky take on last night's red carpet fashion, and especially by his opinion of Rooney Mara, whose entire look generally bewilders me.  (The New York Times)

How did you meet your significant other?  One Redditor (in the comments) has a story that might make your day.  (Reddit)

We all know it's important to apologize when we've done something wrong, but how well does "I'm sorry: really work?  (Live Science)

Just when I think I've given too much consideration to the many MANY flaws in the Star Wars Saga, I read an ingenius post like this, and I realize I haven't given it much consideration after all.  Score!  (Absolutely No Machete Juggling)

Happy Thursday! HAPPY LINKS ONLY!

Yesterday I linked to a Starbucks made of old shipping containers. It was pretty sweet. But this? This is even better. I'm making a special trip to Starbucks to show my support of this. (Seattle Times)

Speaking of things and people that rock my face off, here's Dave Grohl making an excellent point. (via Popurls)

Here's some good news: Stricter school lunch guidelines from the USDA. Keep in mind that schools have to offer the fruits and vegetables, but parents have to teach their children to make the right choices. So. It's a start! (CNN)

Guess what? MORE AWESOME. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation donated $750 MILLION to help combat AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria. (Huffington Post)
