Internet Magic! So basically cool cat pics and general weirdness. Now with 100% more Samuel L. Jackson

Park

So it's mid-January and you're sick to death of hearing about the 20 bazillion diets you can go on and it's increasingly difficult to keep up the "go to bed early, eat right and be neater" resolution (just me?).  Well, don't worry, the internet is here with great stuff to distract me, um, I mean you.

First, let's start with a website that may feature the best kitty cartoons ever, and trust me, I’m a connoisseur (Kitties & Bullshit)

Are you as tired as I am about hearing about people's cleanses? And, do some of them seem a little creepy to you too? (io9)

I'm Back on the Chain, Gang

MelBivDevoe

(Chain, links, get it?  I slay me!)

Good morning!  How about those Golden Globes last night?  Weren't they amazing/boring/so-so?  (Full disclosure:  I'm writing this at 7pm Sunday night because I don't want to blog and drink at the same time.  It won't end well.)

Another day, another fantastic tumblr to share.  This one mashes the gorgeous poetry of Pablo Neruda with images of adorable cats.  (Neruda Cats)

So the 2013 Miss America pageant took place on Saturday.  All I know is, they fed the losers doughnuts.  Yup.  Makes sense - sugary fried dough masks the salty taste of one's tears oh so well.  (The Gloss)

I Like the Way You Work It, No Diggity

MelBivDevoe

Apologies if the links seem a little harried this morning, but I'm running on little sleep.  Hopefully none of the write-ups are nonsensical or purple monkey dishwasher.

If you like overpriced, creepy doll "art," then have I got the link for you!  (BuzzFeed)

Around our house, we have several homemade cat trees and beds to keep our kitties occupied.  I think this needs to be our next DIY project (ha, as if we could pull this off!).  (io9)

First, there was the Binders Full of Women tumblr.  Now, the internet has blessed us with amazing Amazon reviews for said binders.  Never change, internet.  (Pleated Jeans)

Looks like Elizabeth Bathory was on to something, after all - the secret to eternal youth may be in the blood of the young!  But, uh, I do not condone that you go out and bathe in the stuff or drink it or anything.  I'm just stating that for the official record.  (Gawker)

It's a Shpadoinkle Day!

MelBivDevoe

Oh, my heart's as full as a baked potato, guys!  Troma Entertainment, the film studio behind such classics as "The Toxic Avenger" and "Surf Nazis Must Die," is releasing all 150 of their movies on YouTube!  Which means you can now watch Trey Parker and Matt Stone's musical masterpiece "Cannibal! The Musical" for free!  Although, if you really want to enjoy this hilarious schlock fest, you'll have to get the DVD and listen to the "Drunken Director's Commentary."  It's hands-down my favorite commentary track ever.  (BoingBoing)

Alexander SkarsgĂ„rd posed for GQ recently and - it doesn't matter what I say, you're not reading this because you already clicked the link.  (TLo)

Curiosity Lands on Mars, Ferdowsi Lands in Our Hearts

MelBivDevoe

While many of us were sleeping Monday morning, NASA's latest rover, Curiosity, landed on Mars for a two-year research mission.  Here's what you missed if you weren't breathlessly awaiting touchdown. (io9)

Meanwhile, back on Earth, NASA activity lead Bobak Ferdowsi suddenly became the toast of the internet when images of his hawt mohawk hit Twitter.  An intelligent rocket scientist who's also cute?  Be still my heart!  (Buzzfeed)

The Queen is Not Amused, But the Internet Definitely Is

MelBivDevoe

Good morning!  Been keeping up with the Olympics this weekend after Friday's nice but slightly underwhelming Opening Ceremonies?  Bleacher Report has a nice round-up of what you've been missing on this side of the pond.  (Note: Their reporting is up-to-the-minute from London, so if you don't want to be spoiled don't click other stories - this one is from Sunday, so you'll be safe!)

My favorite thing from the Olympics so far?  The "Unimpressed Queen Elizabeth" meme.  I like the Queen, and I'd like to imagine she finds these images funny, too.  (Uproxx)

None Of These Speak Of Presidents. Or Pickles.

Nora and Pinky McLadybits

Have you ever read the hilarity of David Thorne? I especially like the pranks he pulls on co-worker Simon. I laughed so I hard I cried. This post about a permission slip from the school to allow his child to see a religious program is pretty amazing as well. (27b/6)

Do you like animation and accents? How about video games? Actually, you don't need to like video games to enjoy this review of Batman: Arkham City. NSFW. (The Escapist)

I enjoy first date stories, especially when they sound horrific but the couple ends up together. These stories will make you giggle and possibly say, "AW!". (Persephone Magazine)
