More Human Than Human

Pinky McLadybits

Do you like The Avengers? How about books? Hedgehogs? Today is your lucky day, weirdo. (Pleated Jeans)

Four girls in Nigeria created a urine-powered generator for Maker Faire Africa this year. Ingenious! (Maker Faire Africa)

Now this is also interesting. There is an offshoot of the Occupy Wall Street movement that is looking to collect money so that they can purchase people's debt, ridding them of it. (Rolling Jubilee)

Woodchuck Fall Hard Cider: You Autumn Get You Some!

Pinky McLadybits

Like most tasty and wonderful things, I first discovered Woodchuck Draft Cider while creating a Make Your Own Six Pack at Jungle Jim's. I had grabbed Woodchuck Raspberry, and I was hooked from that point on. I was relieved to see that Woodchuck was in the booze section of my local grocery store and I was even happier when I saw I could get a 12 pack with four different flavors. Amber, Granny Smith, and 802 are the constants in that 12 pack and the fourth flavor depends on the season. As the season is fall, that's what we got last time. Fall.

I'll Just Toss It Away Like Yesterday's Jam

MelBivDevoe

Sometimes, I just want to follow Moss's lead here.  Yesterday was one of those days.  Jennifer Livingston, a news anchor for WKBT in Wisconsin, took to the airwaves Tuesday to address a bully.  You see, Jennifer is obese. Thankfully, one of her faithful viewers some guy who randomly turned on her show for a few minutes decided to stick his nose where it didn't belong to espouse his concerns about her weight and sent her an email.  Instead of simply replying to his letter, she was given a segment on the news to respond.  And what an eloquent response she gave.  (Pajiba)

What's Cuter Than a Penguin? A Penguin Pumpkin!

MelBivDevoe

Just in time for you to start your Halloween planning, here are 37 pumpkin decorating ideas that require no carving.  My favorite - that cute lil' guy to the left.  (BuzzFeed)

Oooh, this dragon claw bracelet is a total must-have. (The Mary Sue)

I can't tell if this article is praising Emma Watson for bringing back the dress-over-pants trend, or merely commenting on it.  Was that a trend that really needed to be revived??  (Styleite)

"Law & Order: SVU" will be doing a "50 Shades of Grey" themed episode this year.  I honestly did not know that show was still on the air.  Huh.  (The Gloss)

I'm Sciencing As Fast As I Can!

Pinky McLadybits

Sleep science! Specifically, some studies about ignoring our body clocks and relying too much on "fake clocks" of the modern world. (Telegraph)

What's better than sleep science? BEER SCIENCE! Why do Guiness bubbles fall? (The Daily Meal)

Here are 40 of the most powerful photographs ever taken. Thanks, Julie? Get your tissues ready. (Buzzfeed)

Well, this sounds terrifying. A first-person horror game from the viewpoint of a two-year old. I don't know why it sounds more frightening that way, but it does! (BoingBoing)

Reddit apparently had a thread about fan theories concerning popular movies, television shows, and even rides. Here are some of the more inventive ones. Spoilers may abound. (SuperPunch) And here too. (SuperPunch)

I Ate Too Much Yummy Over The Long Weekend

Pinky McLadybits

I can definitely see how these things can stress people out. I've been completely crazed about my stupid smartphone because it is actually a SHITEPHONE. (Cracked)

I would like to invite you to use some salt I made from the tears of my enemies. Well, I will pretend that they were my enemies. (Newslite)

Are you some kind of asshole with lots of money to waste? Maybe you would like to purchase paint for your car that has real diamonds in it! And then lend me about $50,000. OKTHXBAI. (OhGizmo!)

Some Cows Just Want to Watch the World Burn...

MelBivDevoe

I find the "Evil Cows" meme to be udderly amusing. /rimshot

It's Hump Day, so feast your eyes on these gorgeous shirtless men!  Love #15, but I could go without seeing #11 ever again.  (Wetpaint)

Here's a roundup of where your favorite "American Idol" contestants are now.  I had forgotten that most of these people exist.  (Daily Beast)

In honor of last night's "Glee" finale, the Fug Girls recap Kurt's insane wardrobe.  Let us never forget the one-armed sweater! (Vulture)

This year's Comic Con will feature a "Walking Dead" zombie apocalypse simulation zone.  Sign me up!  (Comics Alliance)

Frick On A Stick With A Brick!: TUESDAY!

Pinky McLadybits

I've been working my way through a six-pack, along with some help from my husband, of various hard ciders and lagers chosen at Jungle Jim's. It's delicious. Alcohol friend. Alcohol also good at 10 other things. (io9)

Alcohol can make you think that looking like a doll is a good idea. So maybe get a couple of drinks in you and watch this tutorial on how to get that glassy-eyed look of creepiness. (Boing Boing)

It might be Spring Break in your area or maybe not for another few weeks. I never went any place super whorish for Spring Break, or anywhere at all for that matter, but I know that Cancun is popular. However, some of the regular residents don't like it so much. (Huffington Post)

Touchdown In My Mouth!: I Just Mean Food And Drinks

Pinky McLadybits

I really enjoy football and I look forward to it every Sunday. As most of you well know, this Sunday is Super Bowl XLVI. The New England Patriots will play the New York Giants in Indianapolis and I will cheer for the Giants. If you need to ask why then Tracer hates you. Just so you know.

I also love Super Bowl parties. Beer, chips, finger foods, desserts, beer, what's not to like? Nothing. Nothing is not to like. There are some foods and drinks that I always like to see at a Super Bowl party and I thought I would share those with you. Feel free to chime in with your favorites in the comments.

First, I'd Like to Thank God...

Nora

Ah, Thanksgiving. Undoubtedly, this is my favorite holiday. I know a lot of people gripe about it, but I happen to love its simplicity, tradition, and the fact that gluttony is not just encouraged, but required (USA! USA!). In between games of football, I'll be hanging out at my parents' house, contemplating how thankful I am to be surrounded by people who genuinely love and care about me, and brimming with generally mushy emotions.

I'll spare you that right now, though, and show some love for 5 things that enrich my life on a daily basis:
