Rimmel Extra Super Lash: Superman Does Good. This Mascara Does Well.

Pinky McLadybits

Yes, another Rimmel Mascara! Obviously it isn't that I don't like the other Rimmel mascaras that I have used, since they all rated quite well. It is rather that I would like to see if any of their mascaras are terrible. I want to see if the less expensive choices in their mascara line are as good as the more expensive choices. (Not that Rimmel is at all expensive. Less than $8 for any of their mascaras? SCORE!)

My latest pickup is Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara. It cost less than $3 and purports to "lift and build" lashes by being a "body building mascara". Let's have a look, shall we?

Stay With Me Always!: Rimmel Stay Matte Face Powder

MelBivDevoe

via Shopping.com

You guys.  YOU GUYS.  I think I finally found it.  The right powder for my incredibly-difficult-to-shop-for face!

It's been a long journey to get here.  Let's catch up, shall we?  After my last diatribe about the confusing nature of the beauty aisle, I've spent some time trying to figure out what's best for my face.  I spend a lot of time indoors (I live in the internet, basically), so I wanted something to match my light skin tone.  I have a mostly dry face with oily patches on my forehead and nose (the t-zone area, if you will), so I wanted to stick with a powder as opposed to an oil foundation.  Something matte would work best, I decided - I didn't need anything shimmery or fancy.  I wanted makeup that would even my skin tone, but doesn't make me look like I've got a pound of slap on my face.

A House of Lies: Rimmel's Lasting Finish Pro Polish

Figgy

So after many years of trying out all brands and prices, I've come to the conclusion that, by and large, the nail polish industry is full of shit. They all tell you their polishes will last forever, that they won't chip, that they NOW contain 50% pure adamantium duo-cortex DNA complex and so will NEVER fade!

You think I exaggerate? Rimmel's Lasting Finish Pro Polish claims to be "Super durable chip resistant nail lacquer with Shine Release Complex" that will last "Up to 10 Days". Sounds impressive, is actually complete bullshit in reality. It lasted maybe 12 hours before the tops started chipping, and by the next day huge flakes were coming off the sides. Not only that, I also had to apply three coats of polish before the color looked decent and my nails were fully covered. So all the above claims were pretty much all lies.

Pinky and the Ladies of Hot Ink

Via Clockwork Hare

I'm not totally sure what a date night is, but I think it is when you get dressed up and go somewhere with a significant other. Maybe dinner, drinks, a movie or a play? I don't know. I think I had a date night last year...I think.

Anyway, most people get these date nights and we want to make sure that you look your absolute best. This way you can get some if you want it or look so good that you can ditch a crappy date for someone better. WIN-WIN!

Now, these will all be makeup and makeup tips. We'll give you another list with grooming tips, like brows, legs, AHEM areas, and such, another time. For now, enjoy these Hot Ink approved cosmetics!

Rimmel Eye Makeup: A Rim Job You Look Forward To

MelBivDevoe

Have you checked out the makeup tutorials here on Hot Ink?  Rusty's video on eye makeup in particular has me trying out new techniques and experimenting with different colors and tools in order to highlight my hazel eyes.  Lately, I've been using some products from Rimmel's eye makeup line to make my favorite features really pop - their Professional Eyebrow Pencil and the Special Eyes Precision Eye Liner Pencil have become my pencils of choice.
