Pinky Tries It: Color-Block Nails

I mentioned the trend of color-block nails in Hot Links the other day. My current manicure was chipping off quite a bit and it was time for something new. I decided to give this color-black a try.

You will need different polish colors. Make sure that they are not just glitter polish, as I learned the hard way. They must be opaque. At least, I think they look better that way.

You will also need scotch tape, scissors, quick-dry drops or top coat, and time. You will need to prep your nails with a base coat and allow it to dry thoroughly. Then you are ready to start.

Marc by Marc Jacobs has the ugliest ads I've ever seen, with cracked-out, grasshopper-like models with half their hair shaved off and looking like they smell of pickles and dirty feet. Gross.

Amanda Seyfried (on the cover this month) is very pretty. I wish she'd make better movies.

To get the look she's wearing on the cover would mean draping myself in all my No-No-Nos: floral-print tank top (florals make me look like a couch), skinny jeans (nope, I actually have hips), giant platform shoes (face, meet floor!) and colorful earrings. It's actually pretty cute if you can work the look.

My favorite thing might be a Word Cloud on how their viewers see the Kardashians, and the biggest words there seems to be "Talentless" and "Fame Whores". Because, seriously, fuck those bitches.

March InStyle Magazine: Heinous Clothes Are Allegedly Trendy!

Jennifer Aniston is the cover girl for a ginormous March issue of InStyle. It's a 552 page MEGA-ISSUE! 6 Steps to Spring Cleaning Your Wardrobe! 50 AMAZING NEW SHOES! Hot New Makeup Colors (fluorescent beige, Figgy's favorite?). I'm hoping that 352 of these pages aren't ads, but I'm not holding my breath. 

28 advertisements, 27 over two pages, equaling 55 pages of ads total before the table of contents. Then 2-3 ads between each page of the contents. Seriously, three or four spreads of ads between one page of content.

Jennifer Garner and her excessively hidden baby bump are on the cover of this month's InStyle. The cover also screams at us about 2012 IS YOUR YEAR! JUST BE MORE FUN. GET FLAWLESS SKIN. REWORK YOUR WARDROBE. Yikes.

I should point out that this issue is really thin compared to all other issues. Who knows how many overpriced candles we'll get in such a tiny tome? But we will soldier on and pray that inside we find at least three candles priced over $40 and something leather and ugly.
