Pass the Courvoisier: Make Up For Ever All Mat

Metric Jenn

Once again I found myself at Sephora, but this time, my fair readers, I was there with a purpose: to get the basics of make up. Foundation to match my skin tone in autumn. My trusty Sephora helper Stephanie was there once more to guide me through the rough and mentally taxing task of picking out makeup.

Long story short, I bought Make Up Forever's All Mat primer for $45.00 and headed home to prepare for a birthday party. I wanted to look good, and not my usual baggy-eyed splotchy self. You know, kind of like a birthday gift to everyone's eyeballs.

Rusty's Sample Roulette: Sephora's Ultra Smoothing Primer

Rusty

I order from Sephora kind of a lot. Because of this I have a giant box of samples just hanging out, waiting to be used. This… is… SAMPLE ROULETTE. Due to the brief nature of the use, I will assign ratings as 0 (stay away) 4 (I liked it, but didn’t love it) or 8 (love it and will probably be dropping my own money on it in short order). Enjoy!

In my rotating series of primer samples, I came up with one actually made by Sephora. Sephora’s Perfecting Ultra-Smoothing Primer in clear to be specific. It was actually a decent sized sample too, a little tube instead of the standard foil envelope so I was excited that I could get more than three uses out of it. Well, I can, but I might not want to.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance: Holy Unmovable Eye Shadow, Batman!

Metric Jenn

You know how you love something so much that you just want to tell EVERYONE about it?! This is totally that product. Too Faced Shadow Insurance is ah-may-zing. How on EARTH did I live this long without this product? Not only that, but why wasn't I told about this product the second someone saw me browsing the eyeshadow section of Sephora?

It was a gross oversight on about 400 sales people's part that I haven't been using/purchasing this product for the past 2 decades. Now don't go skipping this review, just because I'm praising - there's more info for you all after the jump. Information that you must know! *dun dun dunnnnnnnnnn*

Rusty's Sample Roulette: BritePrepFX Primer

Rusty

One of these days I will just submit and buy a foundation primer, but as long as Sephora keeps sending me them for free I’ll keep using those tiny packets and tubes for every last bit of product I can squeeze out of them. The good news about this is that I get to use foundation primer I could never afford. And realize it’s generally not worth it.

Rusty's Sample Roulette: Cover FX Nourishing Foundation Primer and Anti-Aging Serum

Rusty

There’s a tiny part of me that refuses to buy primer for my whole face. This isn’t a big surprise considering it took me until I was well into my twenties to buy foundation and I still only use it occasionally. Like, when other people tell me I have to. I don’t like the idea of smearing goo all over my face and leaving it there ALL DAY and now you tell me I have to smear ANOTHER layer of goo on BEFORE the other goo?!? Go goo yourself.

Arbonne Makeup Primer: Like Buttah

Author: Pinky McLadybits

Hi! I'm Arbonne Makeup Primer. I go on as smooth as the ass of an angel and I feel like silken waterfalls as I caress your skin! I help your makeup go on more smoothly and without so many pesky flaws showing through. I'm amazing and I'm not cheap! My favorite color is blue and I enjoy watching horror movies, even though I know they'll probably be terribly written and poorly acted.

Okay, I'm not really Arbonne Makeup Primer. I'm Pinky. Makeup primer can't talk.

Probably.
