Recently, my esteemed colleague and Rantmaster General, Figgy, wrote a review about Schick Quattro Disposable Women's Razors in which she gave the product a big fat 0 out of 8 tentacles. I was a little perplexed upon reading this review, as I've been using the razors for several years now and have yet to be dissatisfied. Seriously. Several YEARS.
How on Earth could we have such differing opinions? Figgy mentions that she's a bit hirsute. I, too, am cursed with thick, dark leg hair. I'm like half-Sasquatch from the waist down (sexy, I know!). Could she have been using them wrong? How does someone even do that? Clearly Figgy and I differ in our razor needs and standards, which is fine. I'd like to take a moment to go over her issues and show you how great these razors really are!
Figgy's first issue with these wonderful razors was their smell. Yes, Schick's trying some new "scented handles" thing and it's weird. There are several different scents, and about a day after you open the package the scent completely fades and you're just left with a totally useful razor. Nothing to get worked up about! Plus, last time I went shopping, I found unscented Quattros. So if the smell bugs you, you don't even have to buy a scented pack! Problem solved!
Figgy's next complaint was that she cut herself and bled everywhere. The Quattro heads have four blades, so you don't need to press very hard to remove hair. Plus, the heads move very well over the contours of your legs. I haven't nicked myself in quite sometime, but it does happen usually when it's time for a new razor. I take good care of my razors and usually get about a month and a half to two months of use out of one Quattro.
Her third complaint was that the razor didn't remove all the hair and left her legs stubbly. Look, as a half-Sasquatch, I've dealt with that issue before when I used other cheap razors. But since I started using these, I don't have to shave my legs every single day because these razors do such a fantastic job of getting my legs so smooth and hair-free. It helps to shave your legs in warm water and at the end of your shower/bath - the warm water softens your skin and provides a layer of moisture so that the razor slides over your skin rather than dragging across it. And the hairs are soft and plump and ready for trimming.
So, there you have it. These razors haven't let me down in several years. I have the nick-free, smooth legs to prove it. Give Schick Quattro razors a try. There's a 100% chance you'll agree with one of us!
You can find Schick Quattro Disposable Razors for women at most stores. They're sold in stores for around $9-$10 for a 3 pack. I give them an 8 out of 8 tentacles.
Rating: 8/8 tentacles

Madre de Dios, I love this review so, so much. I've used these razors, and while they're not my favorite disposable, there was nothing about them I didn't like. Even the scent - mine were lavender scented and it was quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Figgy so cray.
"What does that mean? It means Figgy is crazy. And in that case, she probably shouldn't be allowed to handle sharp objects anyway."
ReplyDeleteThis is just hilarious. Thank you, Mel, for the genuine LOL.
See, I did everything I've always done when I shave: wait til the end of the warm shower, exfoliate, really good shaving cream, etc. And I still got cut up and stubbly. Maybe my hair's too powerful for that wussy razor! FEAR ME.
ReplyDeleteI'm so lazy that I never exfoliate..should I start doing this??
