Salon Grafix Invisible Dry Spray Shampoo: Y U NO CLEAN?

Pinky McLadybits

I was running low on my dry shampoo spray and decided to see what I could find, as I wasn't that keen on my Umberto. Do you know how difficult it is to find dry shampoo in a place like Target? It's not like they have a dry shampoo section. Everything is with its own brand and some brands don't have dry shampoo. Some do, but they suck (Suave Essentials Dry Shampoo). Others are hella expensive.

I finally stumbled upon Salon Grafix Invisible Dry Spray Shampoo. I'd never even heard of it before. At all. It did promise no residue, which caught my eye along with the low price. I hate looking like I just dried my hair with a cocaine-covered towel and then left the house. So gross.

First of all, this stuff stinks. It smells terrible when you first spray it. I thought I might spew. Luckily I didn't, but it was touch and go there for a few moments. Once I suppressed my urge to hurl, I noticed that there was no residue on my hair. I couldn't even tell where I had sprayed the dry shampoo. That's nice! But then again, I could have just purchased a can of stinky compressed air.

I actually think that might be the case because it didn't do much at all. I have thick hair so I spray my scalp and roots in layers to get everything. I also spray at the base of my bangs because those get greasy the quickest. I sprayed all of these places. And it looks gross. None of the oil was absorbed by my can of air. My bangs were plastered to my face with grease. My hair is yucky to the touch. Not cool, Salon Grafix Invisible Dry Spray Shampoo, not cool.

Of the two promises made by this product, I would have preferred the one that involved making my hair look less like I work inside a grease pit instead of the invisible part. That's just good sense to me. UGH. Back to my Umberto until I can bring myself to try something else.

  1. It works but leaves white residue that you have to really work to get out.
