Method Laundry Detergent: Love of my Life

Author: Nepoleanita

If I had to pick a nemesis, I would have to say that it's Doing Laundry. I just hate everything about the process, from sorting by color and type, to making sure the settings are correct, to folding and putting away. I hate it all. But I think the worst part has always been lugging around a heavy bottle of laundry soap, especially since I haven't had a washer and dryer in my apartment for years.

Enter Method.

In general I adore most Method products, but their laundry detergent was what transformed me from a casual fan into that crazy person who comes up to you in the store and does a live commercial for the product. I have accosted strangers, that's how much I love it. I really cannot say enough good things about it, but let's give it a shot.

It's a plant-based product, so it's nice and environmentally friendly and biodegradable. That always makes me feel better about using chemical stuff. Another great thing about that is it means Method is great for sensitive skin. My skin normally freaks out if I use anything scented, but I've used both the Fresh Air and Waterlily detergents. The scents are fresh and light and clean smelling, which I always love.

It's super concentrated, so you really do only need 2-4 pumps for a whole load of laundry. As a result, one bottle has lasted me for over ONE YEAR. I was skeptical when I bought my first bottle, but they are not kidding when they say that one large bottle can really get you through fifty loads of laundry. Even if you do laundry once a week, there are fifty-two weeks in a year. Compare that to buying a two gallon bottle of Tide Free every few months, and I'm saving a bundle of money. Or at least spending it on other things, like shoes.
The 50 load bottle is 600mL, so it's not heavy at all, and the shape of the bottle and the dispenser pump make it incredibly easy to transport and use, even one handed.

It works in traditional and high efficiency machines, so you won't have to feel excluded if you don't have a fancy washer and dryer like some people are always going on about. But that also means you can't use it as an excuse to buy a fancy washer, so I guess that's one negative aspect.

I give Method Laundry Detergent 8 out of 8 tentacles because it smells great, makes my sensitive skin happy, and, most importantly, works as well as it says it does.

Rating: 8/8 tentacles
