Bio-Oil: Scar Tissue That I Wish You Saw.

Metric Jenn

I was just introduced to this product by a lovely lady who lives all the way down in San Diego, otherwise known as "The Whale's Vagina". I was on vacation, and thoroughly enjoying the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, sunshine, and basically being not at work. One day I was complaining vociferously about having crocodile skin on my elbows resulting in strange clusters of freckles. It's ridiculous, and a source of wonder to all those who notice, while being perplexing to myself.

Well, in waltzes Mademoiselle Parissa with her well-moisturized, glowing skin, and I got so damn jealous. I started shrieking about my elbows at her, like they were somehow her fault.

Parissa didn't shrink away from my banshee-ness, and gladly shared her secret: Bio-Oil. Bought at Costco. For like...19$. Nineteen dollars. She allowed me to use some of hers before I bought my own. Now, before I reveal what I thought of this product, let me give you a bit of background on what it's to be used for.

Basically, Bio-Oil is used to help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. It is also effective for aging and dehydrated skin. In short, I should just use this stuff all over my body. I may as well just fill a bathtub with it.

I have scars from surgery, stretch marks from just being a person (I mean who DOESN'T have stretch marks?? Maybe Ryan Gosling. MAYBE.), and my horrid croc-elbows from hell. I borrowed Parissa's Bio-Oil specifically for my elbows, and it was a goddamn miracle. It does have a slight medicinal smell (to me, though to others it may smell of cinnamon (weirdos)). After 2 uses, there was a noticeable difference in texture on my elbows. Unfortunately, my freckles stayed.

So? Yeah...verdict? I love this stuff. Love it. And for the price of 19$? That is cheap as borscht. The only place I've seen it, though? Costco. Which of course is for a limited audience...the ONE drawback.
