Seche Vite Top Coat: Is Fast, Like Furious Car!

Glam

There comes a point in every lady's life where she needs to settle down and stick to one product. Whether it be for hair, nails, face, finding your glam holy grail can be tedious and frustrating. Well, you're welcome, ladies (and so inclined gentlemen?), because I've got the one and only nail polish top coat you're ever gonna need. Good ol' Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

I feel like this is one of the most popular top coats and writing this review is a bit redundant because everyone on the Internet and their mothers are all about this. Except I feel like the rave reviews for this are completely deserved and on the off chance you don't know about this gem, you will thank me and maybe even build me a glam shrine in your appreciation.

I get at least a week of wear with very minimal chipping, if any at the very tips of my nails. I think I could probably get at least 8 days of a solid mani with Seche Vite, except my brain shuts down if I have a colour on for more than a week and I go nuts so I have to change it. I should also mention that I usually apply a base coat, and on the occasions that I don't have time for it, my whole mani will last on average 2 days shorter.

The most important thing to me, however, is dry time and Seche Vite is a dream. I start with my pinky finger and it seems by the time I reach my thumb, it will already be dry. Now, don't get me wrong, if you're very heavy handed with your nail polish application or if you're using a very thick formula, the surface of it will be dry, however, you still might get dents because the polish underneath the Seche Vite hasn't quite set. Because this is literally the fastest drying nail polish I've ever used, you do have to be a bit quicker when you apply it or else you can get uneven coat. My advise is to start with a not-too-big blob (very scientific term) of the polish on the brush and then evenly distribute it over the nail. Lastly, the shine on this is fantastic. So glossy, it looks like it's still wet.

I have seriously not bought any other top coat, or even thought about buying a different top coat, in over 3 years since I discovered this gem. It's not so readily available in Toronto, Canada, for whatever reason, so it's a bit of a hunt for us Canadian gals if we don't wanna purchase online. I've had success at Sally's Beauty Supply and a few Trade Secrets. It retails anywhere from $7-10, depending on the store.

This gets an 8/8 because it's shiny, it lasts for about a week, and because it dries faster than I can finish typing this sentence. It's a DREAM.

Rating: 8/8 tentacles
