Tarte Up Your Lips: Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint

Cindy

I've never been that girl, the one who's addicted to lip glosses, sticks or even balm. Truth be told, I wear make-up pretty rarely...but this just might be the product that changes all that.

Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint is so pretty and soft and lovely, without being sticky or goopy and the colors are grand. You can buy these pencil/gloss hybrids individually at a pricey $29.00 a pop, but I bought a value set that included five colors for the same exact price! Now that's a deal I can justify--never having tried the product before and not knowing what color I liked--this kit allowed me to get a huge bang for my buck. And seriously, this deal is everywhere (Sephora, Tarte, QVC), so why would anyone buy just one?

The LipSurgence pencils glide over your lips so smoothly; they feel like a light balm. They look like a pretty gloss without having that sticky, heavy feeling that always sends me running in the opposite direction. The product contains jojoba oil and peppermint oil, along with antioxidants, and it claims to "give you a 6000% increase in lips' moisture content in 28 days."

It certainly feels moisturizing, which is one of the reasons I love it, and the hint of peppermint is really nice. The colors in the kit are all pretty; my favorite is a sparkly pink called "Flashy" (which is really strange, because I don't usually wear anything pink or sparkly on my lips). This product pretty much defies any expectations you'd have in color, application and feel--it is by far my favorite of the new products I've tried.

I highly recommend getting the kit because it's so much fun to have the different colors and it makes zero sense to just get one at the same price. I've taken to leaving them out in a bowl on my counter because my daughters love them too. I'll give LipSurgence 7 out of 8 tentacles, because the price is really insane...but in the end, I think it's worth it (these pencils are well made and will last forever).

Rating: 7/8 tentacles

  1. Damnit. You lost me at peppermint oil. Otherwise, they sound fun.

  2. This sounds awesome. I was hoping for the same type of product with Burt Bee's tinted lip balm, but I don't love the flavor and the color payoff is sheer.
