Puffy Eyes? Here, Have a Puffy Applicater.

Author: Metric Jenn

Tonight was a good night. I had supper with a friend I hadn't seen in years, and then we ran errands together. A trip to Rona, then off to the grocery store, with a quick pit-stop at Wal-Mart. While there, I breezed past the make-up section, intent on getting to where we needed to go without being side-tracked. I am not a fan of Wal-Mart. I find their business and employment practices reprehensible.

So my basic M.O. is to get in, and get the shit out as fast as possible. I will not say "No, I'm not going there" should a friend need to get shopping done on the cheap. I understand the need to save. OH GOD, DO I EVER GET IT, NOW.

Anyhoodle, I wasn't in the market for makeup, really. But then I saw this Maybelline line; Instant Age Rewind with under-eye concealer in a nifty applicator (as pictured in the header). I was drawn in by the applicator. I hate the lame concealer brush I currently have for my under-eye region, as I lack control. So this handy thing won me over, even if it was being sold by Wal-Mart.

I was eager to try this product, as it has a few features that promise to reduce puffiness, visible lines and black circles thanks to a formula containing goji berries and Haloxyl (plus a smidgen of collagen). I have to say... Pretty bloody good, there, Maybelline! I basically used it under my eyes because I tend to get puffy, dark circles and I put a smidgen on my upper eyelid. The puffiness went right down, and thanks to the fact that it was a concealer, the dark circles also disappeared.

This product also lasted for a good amount of time: 9 hours without a re-application. I had to touch up my eyeliner, but not the concealer! Not too freaking shabby for a $8.97 purchase at my nemesis store.

And so I have to give this product a solid 8/8 tentacles! I really have nothing bad to say about it. The price is right, and the product delivers on its promise. Now if only I can find it at a different store for the same price, so as not to compromise my morals and subdue my rabid inner snob...

Rating: 8/8 tentacles

  1. Even though I'm a makeup snob and usually buy overpriced crap from Sephora, I bought this last night (on impulse) while I was at the grocery store. I put it on under one eye, for comparison purposes, and holy cats! I have HORRIBLE undereye circles and usually look like I've not slept in days, and this covered them really well. It was a lot more powdery-feeling than I anticipated and went on really smoothly.

I forgot to take it off before I went to bed and when I woke up, it was still on. That stuff lasted for ~13 hours. I'm impressed!

Thanks for the suggestion, Metric Jenn!
