5 Fall Faves For Under $10

Author: Vee

Makeup might be my favorite vice. As anyone who's ever walked into Sephora or Ulta and walked out with a tiny bag and $150 less in their checking account can tell you, that stuff gets expensive, yo.  In order to fuel my vice without pawning my family heirlooms, I've tried many a cheapie product.  Just in time for fall, here are the ones that deliver the goods without requiring a lien on your mortgage.

This little beauty won the 2011 Allure Best of Beauty Editor's Choice Award.  The synthetic Taklon brush is soft and vegan-friendly.  Great for applying shadow wet or dry, I own 4 of these for use with different color schemes so you aren't muddying your highlight colors and your contour shades.

2. NYC Blushable Creme Stick - $3.99

Take this tube of blush on the go. NYC's Blushable Creme Stick doesn't dry out and blends easily, unlike some of the more expensive cheek stains.  I always keep one of these in my purse for those mornings I need to do my makeup on the run or need a makeup lift before happy hour.  Some of the shades pack more punch than others, but that can work depending on the look you're going for.

3. Wet N' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Trio - $2.99

These eyecolors are major value for the price.  They are satiny, highly pigmented shadows.  I can't believe the value for the trios.  The one downside is that after a month or two one of the strips will usually crumble but for three bucks a pop, I just buy a new one.  My fav color combos are the neutral/brown "Walking on Eggshells"  and plum/brown "Knock on Wood".

4. L'Oreal Voluminous Original Volume Building Mascara - $7.49

A classic that keeps me coming back for more, Volumninous is a dependable mascara.  Don't be fooled by the spin-offs such as the
"Million Lashes" line, the original gets your lashes full without smearing or irritating your eyes and it washes off easily.

5. NYX Slim Lip Pencils - $3.50

My lip secret is that I only wear actual lipstick on rare occasions.  For my every day look I almost always wear lip pencil over lip balm or lip pencil with a coat of gloss to keep my lips from feeling too heavy or coated.  NYX in Auburn is the perfect "work red" for me, it's there without being too bright or too obvious.  With 60 shades to choose from, you can find your color too!

  3. I might just buy the ELF brushes! I'm always wary of cheapo brushes as I've had some bad experiences, but I trust you and it won't hurt so much if this one doesn't work for me.
